Bring your budget with you
Export from your old app, open the file in Envelopia, and check everything before it's saved. Your old app isn't changed.
Most apps have an Export or Download button in settings. The steps for each app are below.
In Envelopia, choose “Switch from another app” and pick the file. On the website you can pick it straight from your computer.
See your envelopes, accounts and entries first. Nothing is saved until you say so, and you can undo the import.
Steps for each app
Goodbudget
Sign in at goodbudget.com on a computer and click “Export CSV” above your transactions. Open that file in Envelopia.
YNAB
On a computer, open app.ynab.com, click your plan's name at the top left, then “Export Plan”. Open the .zip file in Envelopia as is; there's no need to unzip it.
EveryDollar
On a computer, open EveryDollar.com (this needs EveryDollar Premium). Scroll to the bottom of the budget and click “Download CSV”, and choose the transactions file. EveryDollar exports one month at a time, so download each month you want and open them all together.
Monarch
On a computer, go to Settings, then Data, then “Download transactions”. Open the file in Envelopia.
Mint
Use the transactions.csv you downloaded from Mint before it closed.
Actual Budget
Open an account (or All accounts), open its menu and choose “Export”. Open the CSV in Envelopia.
Cashew
In Cashew, go to Settings and choose “Export CSV file”, with all dates and accounts.
Simplifi
In Transactions, select the transactions and click the download arrow at the top right. Turn on “Show Split Items” first so splits come across.
Rocket Money
In Transactions, open the menu and choose Export CSV. Rocket Money emails you a link to the file.
Quicken
Choose File, then Export, then QIF file.
A spreadsheet or another app
Save it as a CSV with a date, an amount and a description. Envelopia asks which column is which.
App menus change from time to time. If a step doesn't match what you see, email envelopiahelp@gmail.com and we'll walk you through it.
